Your Frequency is not correct, see the FREQ-OFFSET field, please set to 12623.280 and see what FREQ-OFFSET says, maybe the LNB drifted after auto search (or something didn’t work)
Frequency i perfect, good Job! Still curious why your SNR is so low, but hay it works so all is good.
I took a closer look, it’s an SMA cable with a few (un-)reverse adapters in between. These connectors are waterproof to a certain degrees by design. Only the last adapter to F-Connector should really be sealed, so there’s no water ingress into the Bullseye, which will destroy it over time. Thats what the rubber rings are for in my photo, but you can do it with vulcanising tape around the outside too.
maybe white yougurt is not the best for othernet? or the 9 floors building in front my window?
Have 11/12 in the snr field is good with this setup. ![]()
i know what your Problem is i think, what is that green thing on front of the LNB? Is it a Window or some sort of sun protection? At these Frequencies anythign between the LNB and the Satellite will reduce your Signal a lot.
Yes, and inside tihs " curtain" have also iron rods. This are the worst (?) conditions I test the LNB on othernet beam. Sort of attenuator
What’s the helix in the background for?
QO100, 2400 helix for first experiment portable setup. It worked with 10 w PA have some qso with 4/ 7 rst .
For antenna work its good practice to wrap exposed connectors in self amalgamating PVC tape, This prevents the ingress of water and prevents corrosion of the metal. Rain gets into the co-ax and spreads by capillary action or in the case of air spaced co-ax down the airway like a pipe and corrodes the copper.
I’ve been setting up antennas and looking after a CCTV distribution system for some time and taping exposed metal connectors is essential and the tape is cheap. The time spent replacing corroded stuff is not.
yeah that is really Bad, if you can try and move it so it has a clear view to the Sat, with that your Can will not be needed anymore i would say
I know
But who cares, it works
It works today, but tomorrow is another day
I’d like mine to work then.
I’ve replaced lots of water damaged co-ax and seen water oozing out of the other end. Also seen connectors that are bright and ‘as new’ after 10 years on the roof because they were taped.
Exercise safe reception, use protection …
Not that mine is working as there is a tall building in the way of 8W
What worked for a Year will work for another yeay, i do protect my Hamradio cables a lot better, but repalcing a 30cm Window Pass-Trough cable is a lot easier as well then a 10m+ cable for a Hamradio Antenna
Sad that you have a building in the way
I did once delay putting tape on a LNB, it rained in the night and did it the next day and the connection subsequently failed due to corrosion as water had got in the cable. I also live near the sea and there is salt in the air which helps corrosion.
I have a clear view of the sky from 28e to 100w but there is this one tall building at 8w …
looks way better
Maybe +5khz (FREQ_OFFSET says around 5khz offset) , so set it to 12623.285, then FREQ_OFFSEt should be under 1000
