EU Beam on Eutelsat 8WB: 12.6231*V* GHz

it’s just a cheap “window cable”

I have to say that the EU Beam works really well, SNR is similar when not even better than Astra Before
(Bare Bullseye on my Window seling)

Ostrava, Czech Republic, universal LNB only (no horn, reflector etc.).Pointing was little bit more tricky, but works.

Nice! You should try and adjust the frequency + 11khz as stated under Freq Offset.
So your new Frequency would be 12623.161

Hi Michal, same experience, with bare LNB the direction to point is very sharp. Best SNR is also abt. -10 dB. Maybe a hill with some trees affects the reception of Eutelsat 8W. With a 80cm-dish I could get +10 dB. And with the SES-satellite we used before I only had to point roughly to the satellite to get a lock. Maybe I will try it from a higher position of the LNB at the next attempt.
Anyway, it is working! And thanks to Manuel for the calibration tool!

thx Wolfgang
I had no real problem getting my first lock with the bare LNB here near Cologne, after that it was a simple watch and adjust pattern to optimize, mostly getting around -7 to -8db SNR what is decent.

I guess it is my position, the line of sight changed with the satellite and a hill and some trees might be the reason for the lower SNR. At the next opportunity I will move the whole setup 5 m higher.

then good luck, i got mine sitting on my Window looking against / over some houses across the street and it works fine, maybe your Skew is a bit off or something. Or the Hill is really in the Way .)

Success in Amsterdam!! Looked up rough direction to aim for via DishPointer and it grabbed a lock after a few minutes of sweeping.

Bare LNB, the white one that came with DreamCatcher 3.05. SNR is slightly worse than Astra 2, but haven’t fixed or properly aimed the LNB yet.

The Lora Feed is listed on https://www.flysat.com/e8wb.php now…

What is the right direction for Berlin (Germany)?

Thanks

Sorry guys, went offline but set my bullseye on eutelsat 8wb, but what is the custom freq and beam type? And i have a old LNB, must this be dual or single, or can better order that new LNB?

12.623100 GHz, Beam Type 36, satellite Eutelsat 8W - Seems that Bullseye or similar work best due to the narrow bandwith of the signal. Manuels tool is recommended to calibrate “normal” LNBs.

Your mount looks great BUT you really need to put self amalgamating tape over the connectors.

what Tape do you Mean? on the New Mount? There is no Tape. it’s just how the Windows feed-trough cable came out of the box.

These kind of connectors usually have a rubber seal ring inside. No need to tape them down.

My connecters don’t have those seals, they are all some really cheap ones, but the worked for a year, and they will work for another few years i would say

after days testing different LNB I got the lock with the Bullseye :grinning:
it is not a quick job but i got it. Not bare Lnb i use my yogurt can with some gain.
it is a sharpy signal so don’t give up too soon. after the scan, tnx Tysonpower, I move 1 Khz to 1 Khz… may it is not necessary but it worked for me.
