will take a look later
I have to leave now on business, but will keep it running and report later on with screenshots…
Right now it kinda jumps between ‘files’ at +9/+10,5 db and unknown/-40 db every status update. Offset changes to 2520 when it displays a lock
@Syed got a Signal
Bare LNB?
Ok, so power level is good. What was your SNR on Astra 3B with a bare LNB?
Around the Same, my LNB is still drifitng a bit due to heat from my hands and the cold Weather, but i see it around -7,5 to -8.5 SNR as on Astra 3B
I’m really glad to hear that. Your location was at the hottest point of Astra 3B, which tapered off considerably at the non-Germany/France parts of Europe. The E8WB beam provides much more power to the rest of Europe, so more people should be able to receive without a dish.
Sounds Awesome!
@mw1mdh @morphy_richards The signal is now live. Reception should be possible. Please let us know your SNR level with a bare LNB.
While setting up for the New Sat i also changed my LNB mount from a pile of shi…a piece of wood and Packing tape…to a nice 3D printed mount. Only thing i will change is the mount to my Window sill, the current clamp works great but isn’t the nicest.

@kenbarbi I haven’t been following for quite a while. Great you have been.
Is the new North America beam up yet? If not, should just wait? Still using the Maverick LNA. Are you using the newer 2 mode LNA? Should I get one? Just a quick update, if you will. Thanks
Don W6RWN SoCal
Hi Don - - The North America beam has been up for about a week now. It is working well, but is a little finicky to tune. I put together a new User’s Guide as a PDF in the Wiki with current info dated 14 March (see page 16 in the PDF). The one big problem many of us have, is the Maverick is not frequency agile enough to reliable tune SES. Jerry and I have replaced it with our Dual LO LNB that came with the DC v3.05. Also, Manuel has developed a great Tuner App to make freq selection very easy.
The Eutelsat 8WB signal just came up this morning, and Manuel is the first to tune it! Yippy!! He’s using the new Bullseye LNB.
Bring up you terminal - - let’s see what happens. Keep us posted. Ken
By now i think my 85cm dish may be too much power for the AGC at +10.5db. It looks like it is receiving for a few seconds and then tries to balance the signal, thus losing it. I’ll try with bare LNB when the drizzle stops, just wanted to home in on the frequency first.
I guess I got it. 80cm-dish and thermally stabilized LNB from DJ4ZZ (formerly used for QO-100). First packets received completely, first files are in. Later I will try with bare LNB.

BTW: should be online at obereip.selfhost.de
What sort of feeder cable is that? It looks like a ladder line enclosed in some sort of tube?
It’s a special kind of sat coax cable used to run through closed window frames without damaging the frame or the cable. They usually come with a bit of signal loss. Google for “Coaxial Flat Cable for Windows and Door”
Amazing I had no idea such a thing even existed.
Im online now too. Turns out i had a bad/corroded coax extension cable. Bare LNB at -10db, doing some fine tuning now.
